Greenville, SC – The Greenville Triumph have announced the hiring of Ryan McKie as the club’s Strength & Conditioning Coach. McKie, a native of Simpsonville, SC, is a co-owner of Knight Performance Factory in Greenville.
“Well before the season began, Coach Harkes and I spent a lot of time discussing how he wanted his team to perform,” said McKie. “It then became very clear that we shared the same philosophies on physical preparation for a soccer player. As an Upstate native who has spent my entire professional career working with athletes in the Upstate, I am excited to work with Coach Harkes, Alex Blackburn and Rick Wright to prepare Greenville’s professional soccer club.”
McKie is a 6-time Junior Olympics medalist and the all-time leading receiver for Hillcrest High School’s football team. McKie attended Furman University, where he was a wide receiver and kick returner on the school’s 2004 SoCon champion and 2005 national semi-finalist football team. He graduated from Furman with a degree in Health & Exercise Science. He comes to the Triumph with over 10 years’ experience in the fitness industry, having trained athletes from the PGA, LPGA, NFL, CFL, MLS and MLB.
“We are very excited to bring Ryan McKie to the club,” said Head Coach & Sporting Director John Harkes. “Ryan and I have spent a lot of time together, and I consider him a very valuable person that can be an extension of the technical staff. Ryan possesses a high level of strength and conditioning knowledge, a great demeanor and high character. He is the perfect complement to our team!”
The club opens their home season April 6th against the Lansing Ignite at Legacy Early College. Season tickets and mini plans are on sale now at www.greenvilletriumph.com/Tickets. Single game tickets go on sale March 15.
