Greenville, SC – The Greenville Triumph are back home at Legacy Early College for a 7:00 pm match against North Texas SC on Saturday, May 4.
The Triumph (2-2-1) are looking to get back in the win column after a strong result in snowy Madison last weekend, earning a draw and bringing a point back home to the Upstate. North Texas comes in unbeaten, but with only 3 matches under their belt and their leading scorer out after being called up to the U17 National Team for the CONCACAF Championships.
What to watch For
- Goals: The Triumph have endured a stretch of 3 matches that saw them only allow one goal, but only score one as well. With the team hungry for their first goal in three games and a North Texas team that’s scored in each of their first 3, this weekend could see a higher-scoring affair than fans have seen the last few weeks.
- 2 Much to Handle?: Saturday’s match marks the first time the Triumph will face an “MLS 2” squad, as North Texas is a developmental squad for FC Dallas. NTSC has been able to avoid some of the potential pitfalls of being a developmental team and has started the season 3-0, presenting a tough task for the Triumph.
- Tough Stretch: This weekend marks the first of 3 matches in 8 days for the Triumph, potentially turning in to 4 matches in 11 days with a first round Open Cup victory on Wednesday. The stretch will mark an opportunity for the Triumph to mix and match lineups and subs and earn some great experience for the roster.
