Greenville, SC – The Greenville Triumph are back in USL League One action after Wednesday’s 1-0 U.S Open Cup victory over Tormenta FC. The Triumph (2-3-1) are on the road for their second matchup against Lansing Ignite (2-3-1) at 7:00 pm on Saturday, May 11 at Cooley Law School Stadium.
What to watch For
- Open the floodgates?: Greenville’s first meeting with Lansing featured the club’s only multi-goal match so far this year, a 2-1 victory in the inaugural home opener for the Triumph. With Cole Seiler’s late goal Wednesday snapping the club’s scoreless streak, could this be the match the Triumph break out?
- Managing Minutes: with the Triumph advancing in the U.S. Open Cup, tomorrow’s match at Lansing now finds itself as the middle match in a stretch of 3 across 8 days. Coach Harkes and the club will have to be careful to keep players fresh, and it may lead to some changes in the Starting XI and subs as it did on Wednesday against Tormenta.
- Batter Up: The Triumph have played on grass, on turf, in the heat and in the snow so far this season, but a new task awaits as they play their first match on a baseball field at Cooley Law Stadium in Lansing. The club will have to adapt to the new challenge of a covered infield as they look to combat Lansing’s familiarity with their home surface.
