Greenville, SC – The Triumph managed a hard-fought draw to keep their recent unbeaten streak intact Saturday night in West Greenville.
The first half was played at a quick tempo in which neither side could take complete control of the game. However, in the 19th minute, Forward Madison attacker found the end of a dangerous service that was ultimately ruled offside.
With the game remaining 0-0, the Triumph side began to see more opportunities in the final third. In the 24th minute, Midfielder Aaron Walker laced a shot towards the upper right 90 that was barely tipped away by 6’3″ Madison goalkeeper Brian Sylvestre.
Triumph midfielder Paul Clowes started the second half off with a strike from distance that was also called offside by the assistant referee. The physicality contributed to a chaotic tempo throughout the rest of the game with neither side able to find the back of the net.
Midfielder Max Hemmings shared his thoughts after the game concerning the 0-0 draw. “Parts of the game we did well. Parts we did not. We have many positives to take away from this, another clean sheet. First and foremost, however, is Toronto. We’ve got to keep working hard in training and doing the little things that will pay off and keep this streak alive.”
