Toronto, Ontario, CA – It was a windy afternoon match in Toronto as the Triumph and Toronto FC II played to a 0-0 draw highlighted by many close calls for Greenville. The club was able to tally another point towards the playoff race and extend the team’s unbeaten streak.
With the addition of Kevin Politz back in the starting lineup, Cole Seiler shifted from center back to right back, pushing Max Hemmings into the right midfield position. The flank play combinations between Hemmings and Seiler as well as left-sided players Tyler Polak and Omar Mohamed created dangerous attacking opportunities for the Triumph. However, extreme winds throughout the match’s entirety proved the final ball and final shot hard to find.
The last fifteen minutes of the match featured numerous Triumph attacks as the team exposed numerous gaps in the Toronto back line, leading to multiple chances to get on the board. Greenville finished with 16 shots, 3 of which were on target.
With Dallas Jaye’s clean sheet, fans can receive $3 off a Top Wash at FINS Car Wash on Sunday. The team travels to Wisconsin to face Forward Madison in a rare Wednesday match, August 28th at 8:00pm EST. The match can be viewed on ESPN+.
