The Greenville Triumph is on the road again to face the new No. 3 Forward Madison FC. Greenville trails Madison by one point (31 pts, 32 pts) in the USL League One Standings.
What To Watch For:
On the Road Again: The Greenville Triumph head to No. 3 Forward Madison for the Triumph’s second away match in five days. This is the second of three consecutive road games for the Triumph who played to a 0-0 draw last Friday in Toronto. Madison’s home-crowd is well-known for its intensity and size, a sure fire confidence factor for the home-standing Flamingos who jumped three spots in league standings after a 1-0 victory versus Richmond.
Quality Service From the Flanks: One common factor occurring during scoreless matches for the Triumph is a decrease in the quality of service from outside positions. Greenville is difficult to defend from the flanks, especially when overlapping fullbacks such as Hemmings, Polak, and Seiler are involved. Last game against FMFC, head coach John Harkes felt that his squad dominated in the outer channels because of the dynamic movement. However, Harkes stated the final service into the dangerous areas was lacking, ultimately resulting a scoreless draw. The quality of the final ball will be very important for a Triumph squad looking to break into a top four slot.
Same But Different: Things might look slightly different for Greenville as midfielder Omar Mohamed steps into a new kit with the Somalian National Team this week. Greenville hopes to get a boost from new guy JJ Donnelly, a creative forward who has finally been approved to compete with the Triumph.
