Greenville, SC – Greenville Triumph Soccer Club announced today that it has declined the contract options for Sami Guediri, Edmundo Robinson, Ryeong Choi, Travis Ward, Dominic Boland, Cameron Saul and Miguel Uribe following the conclusion of the 2019 USL League One season.
Though the Triumph has declined these options, the transactions do not preclude a player from re-signing with the club for the 2020 season.
Sami Guediri signed with Triumph SC after competing in the team’s open tryouts last November. The Florida native played in 17 games for Greenville, logging 251 minutes and two starts.
Goalkeeper Miguel Uribe, a former standout at Southern Wesleyan University in Central, SC, started one game for Greenville, logging 90 minutes and one save against the Richmond Kickers in September.
Edmundo Robinson, 2018’s South Atlantic Conference Player of the Year, was added to Triumph SC’s roster in March of 2019. Robinson logged 279 minutes at the wide midfield position, making 12 appearances for Greenville and netting the club’s first penalty kick goal in a victory at eventual champion North Texas on July 26th.
Ryeong Choi came to the Triumph after spending 2018 with USL League Two club, North Carolina FC U23. The High Point University graduate appeared in five games, logging a total of 32 minutes.
Travis Ward, a New Jersey native, came to Greenville via the club’s tryouts last November. The former Philadelphia Fury player made 14 appearances for the Triumph, logging 232 minutes and tallying one goal to earn a spot on Week 7’s USL League One Team of the Week.
Dominic Boland, the Scottish defender and Limestone University graduate, posted 19 starts and 28 appearances for the club, logging 1,655 total minutes. Boland spent time on both sides of the ball for Greenville netting one goal, collecting 30 interceptions and appearing on Week 20’s USL League One Team of the Week.
Cameron Saul, the team’s fifth roster addition for the 2019 season, signed with Greenville after competing in the team’s open tryouts. The English native and former Asheville City SC player logged significant time for Greenville’s attack towards the end of the season, making 20 appearances with 12 starts and 937 total minutes played. Saul netted four goals and made back-to-back appearances on USL League One’s Team of the Week (26, 27).
The club currently has four players under contract for 2020: forward Jake Keegan, midfielder Paul Clowes, and defenders Evan Lee and Tyler Polak.
