Greenville, SC – Greenville Triumph SC has signed former Lansing defender and captain Brandon Fricke for the 2020 season, pending league and federation approval.
Fricke comes to Greenville after spending the 2019 season with USL League One semi-finalist Lansing Ignite FC. The center back made 28 starts for Lansing, tallying 105 clearances, 32 interceptions and two goals across his 2,501 minutes played.
“I’m very grateful for the opportunity to join Greenville for the 2020 season. I really respect the approach of the coaching staff and the team, and I feel great support within the community to grow the game,” said Fricke. “From my conversations with Coach Harkes, I know the club has strong ambitions to improve on the great inaugural year they had, and I’m excited to contribute in any that will help the club achieve its goals on the pitch and in the community.”
Originally from Grimes, Iowa, Fricke spent his collegiate career at Butler University, making a total of 71 appearances with six goals and four assists. The 27 year old was drafted by the Colorado Rapids during the 2015 MLS SuperDraft and spent time with USL Championship’s Charlotte Independence and Swedish club, Nybro IF.
