GREENVILLE, SC – For the second time this season, winger Alex Morrell has been named League One’s Player of the Week. He’s joined by fellow striker, Lachlan McLean as the pair notched a goal and an assist each in the Triumph’s dominating performance on Friday night.
Alex Morrell (F, Player of the Week) recorded a goal and assists, won 8 of 12 duels and notched four interceptions to help lead Greenville to a 2-1 victory against South Georgia Tormenta FC.
Lachlan McLean (F) had three shots overall to compliment his goal and assist in the Friday night match against Tormenta FC. It was McLean’s first start of the 2020 season.
This is Alex Morrell’s second time earning Player of the Week honors following the 2-0 GTSC victory over Fort Lauderdale CF in the first week of action. It is McLean’s second team of the week appearance.
The Triumph return home to Legacy Early College on Sunday, September 13 for a 3pm match against Forward Madison. A limited number of tickets are available here.
