Greenville, SC – The Greenville Triumph and Fifth Third Bank have partnered together to present the Small Business of the Month, a spotlight on local businesses showing commitment and passion for improving the Upstate community and its neighborhoods.
Greenville Army Navy Store, located on Laurens Road, has been chosen as July’s Small Business of the Month presented by Fifth Third Bank. Established in 1946, Greenville Army Navy Store has been a staple in the Upstate community for 70 years and is not just a museum, but a true military surplus store that sells a touch of everything.
“After World War II, military surplus was plentiful. My father and his brothers were buying military surplus items from Donaldson Air Force base here in Greenville and began selling the items retail to the public,” said owner Jeff Zaglin. “The goal has been the same ever since the late 40’s: quality Goodson services at an attractive price.”
Over its 70 years of business, Greenville Army Navy Store has seen continuous amounts of success at its downtown location. The loyal customer base and reputation built through its downtown storefront has carried over extremely well to the store’s new location on Laurens Road. Zaglin wants to use the new storefront as a way to help all small businesses in the neighborhood grow and succeed.
“Our philosophy of investing in the Upstate community is people oriented,” said Zagllin. “The golden rule of life, which includes business practices, is and should be to treat each and every person with the same dignity and respect that each of us deserves. This translates especially to our Military personnel and veterans because, as Americans, we should seek to understand and promote our veterans and their causes. Their service to our country allows each and every American the ability to be a responsible citizen and share in this country’s greatness.”
Greenville Army Navy Store has an impressive track record of supporting local veterans and civic organizations and is a longstanding member of the Metropolitan Arts Council. The Greenville Triumph and Fifth Third Bank are honored to recognize Greenville Army Navy Store as July’s Small Business of the Month.
