WHAT TO WATCH FOR
Set pieces: The pivotal points in Greenville’s two losses against Tormenta this season has been set pieces, with the Triumph conceding three goals across those two matches. Surely a focus in training this week, look for the Triumph to be very conscious about where on the pitch they’re conceding fouls and potentially opening up Luca Myar-Falten and others to dangerous service into the box.
Finding goal scorers: Marios Lomis continues to be one of the most dangerous players in the league in front of goal, nearly adding a few more to his league-leading goal tally in Toronto last week. Despite his prowess, Greenville has struggled to find a second consistent scorer this season. Head Coach John Harkes knows other players will need to step up in the final third if the club is going to score consistently enough to string a few wins together in August.
NEWS AND NOTES
Injury Report: Right back Abdi Mohamed returned to training this week, adding depth to a back line that will be without stalwart CB Brandon Fricke after a red card against Toronto. Jacob Goodall also returned to training late this week after a brutal knee to the chest in Toronto. Noah Pilato (back) and Lachlan McLean (calf) continue to heal and will be out for Saturday.
League One Standings: Greenville continues to hold at third place in the standings with 24 points, though Omaha and Chattanooga both have a match in hand against the Triumph as they sit 1-2. Tormenta sits in fifth with 20 points as one of six teams within a point of one another.
