WHAT TO WATCH FOR
Defend Legacy: Greenville’s offense has been stuck in neutral during the team’s rough stretch across the last month, only scoring one goal since July 24th. The Triumph have struggled without attacking talents Lachlan McLean and Alex Morrell, but they face a Tucson team Saturday that finds themselves in the bottom third of the league for goals allowed. Greenville showed flashes last week with 10 shots in the first half, so they could be on the verge of breaking out of their slump.
Which opponent shows up: FC Tucson sits second to last in the standings, but comes in to Saturday’s match on the heels of a convincing 4-2 romp of Ft. Lauderdale in Drive Pink Stadium. Coach Harkes has applauded Tucson’s form since John Pearlman has taken over coaching duties, but a still-inconsistent Tucson side will leave Greenville guessing as to what they’re up against Saturday night.
NEWS AND NOTES
Injury Report: Forwards Lachlan McLean and Alex Morrell remain out with a knee and hamstring injury, respectively. Midfielder Noah Pilato remains out with a back injury, with an expected return in 2-4 weeks. Jesus Ibarra is away from the team this weekend, but veteran Don Smart will return to the 18 following the birth of his daughter last week.
League One Standings: Greenville sits in eighth place in the league one standings with 24 points, but is tied with six other teams at that point total.
