WHAT TO WATCH FOR
Attacking Breakthrough: Two straight wins for Greenville has quickly reversed playoff fortunes for the Upstate side, as they shot up a crowded USL League One table from tenth to third. Now four points above the playoff cut line, the Triumph are in control of their playoff fate as we look ahead to the final quarter of the season. The club’s next three matches see them face off against the current fourth, six and seventh-place teams, so Sunday begins a crucial stretch for Greenville.
…But where will the attacks come from?: Greenville and Tucson will have to look elsewhere for goals this weekend, as both clubs unfortunately lost strikers to season-ending injuries across the last week. With a red-hot JJ Donnelly out for Greenville and Toby Uzo out for Tucson, other attackers will be looking to step up. Greenville will likely look to Marios Lomis, who is still tied for the league lead in goals despite not appearing in the club’s last two matches. The Triumph will have to look out for Tucson’s Shak Adams, who scored both goals for the Arizona side in their 2-1 win over Tucson last month.
NEWS AND NOTES
Injury Report:
Forward JJ Donnelly suffered a knee injury in training this week, and is expected to be out for the remainder of the season
Lachlan McLean (F): OUT, Noah Pilato (M): OUT, Will Mejia (D): OUT
League One Standings: Greenville’s sits in third place with 30 points, one spot ahead of FC Tucson.
