Greenville, SC (January 25, 2022) – Hal Hershfelt, a midfielder for Clemson University, will be joining the Greenville Triumph Soccer Club as its’ fourth signee for the club’s inaugural USL W League season. Hershfelt will be joining Clemson teammate Caroline Conti pending league and federation approval.
Over her three years at Clemson, Hershfelt has recorded 1,452 minutes and 66 starts across 69 total apperances. This season, she was named a Second Team All-ACC and United Soccer Coaches Second Team All-Atlantic Region selection, and in 2020-21 she was named to Third-Team All-ACC. In 2019, Hershfelt made the ACC All-Freshman Team and was voted United Soccer Coaches Third Team All-Atlantic Region.
“Hal will raise the level of competitive quality. Her presence on the team will bring out the best in the players around her. She brings an enthusiastic passion to the field and a triumphant competitiveness to get results,” said Head Coach Julie Carlson. “She makes an impact in every aspect of the game, defensively she outworks and competes, offensively she drives, combines and enforces goal scoring opportunities.”
Prior to her collegiate play, the Atlanta Native, was a member of the US Soccer Development Academy national quarterfinalist team in 2018. She was also a national semifinalist at the 2017 ECNL Nationals and selected to participate in the Id2 Olympic Development Program and US Soccer National Team camp.
Hershfelt will be joining an already impressive roster hosting Sarah Jacobs, Caroline Conti and Carly Thatcher for the 2022 season. The club completed its’ inaugural tryouts January 8-9 and the team is set to kick off their first game May 2022. Season tickets are on sale now and can be purchased here.
