Greenville, SC (February 3, 2022)—Today the USL W League announced its inaugural schedule for the 2022 season. The newly formed league will consist of 43 teams across the country split into seven divisions. The Greenville Triumph USL W League team is set to face off against all North Carolina teams in the South Atlantic division. The Team will compete in 12 matches over eight weeks for a place in the 2022 USL W League Playoffs in July.
Greenville will open its preseason campaign on May 8th, against the only other South Carolina team in the league, South Carolina United FC. The Triumph is slated for 7 home matches for 2022 including the only exhibition of the season against SC United FC.
Greenville Triumph USL W League team plays its first match against Charlotte Independence at American Legion Memorial Stadium on Sunday, May 15. The Team will host its first ever home match May 20 against the NWSL Club, NC Courage U23 squad. Then next week they will travel back across the border for an away match against NC Fusion.
On May 30, Asheville City SC will host Greenville in a Memorial Day matchup. Four days later Asheville City travels south to Legacy for their second run of the year against the Triumph. Then the club will continue its four-match home stretch against NC Fusion, Charlotte Independence, and Wake FC.
Greenville will visit Cary, NC for a rematch against NC Courage U23 on June 25. The Greenville Triumph will host their final home game of the season against Asheville City SC on June 28. Rounding out the 2022 regular season the Greenville Triumph will travel to Charlotte Independence and Wake FC. The Greenville Triumph W League Team has already announced an impressive lineup of coaches and players for the 2022 squad. Clemson, Furman, and Auburn are all represented on the team as well as recent signees from Wake Forest, UNC Charlotte, and Wofford. The club anticipates filling more roster slots in the weeks prior to the May kickoff. Season tickets are available for purchase here for the inaugural 2022 season.
