Duval, Seedlock join Greenville Liberty Roster as first goalkeeper signings
Greenville, SC (April 12, 2022) – The Greenville Liberty has announced the signing of two goalkeepers for the 2022 season, pending league and federation approval. Reaghan Duval and Lauren Seedlock, are both goalkeepers in the Big South Conference who just finished their senior seasons, will be joining the roster for this summer’s inaugural season. Duval and Seedlock had memorable performances at the club’s inaugural open tryouts in January.
Duval is finishing her fourth season at Campbell University, playing 2,776 minutes in her collegiate career. In her final two seasons, Duval led the team to two regular season championships, including a Big South Championship title and NCAA Tournament berth in 2021. Duval started 12 of the 14 matches for the Fighting Camels during the 2021 season. The North Carolina Native recorded 113 saves with a 77% save percentage during her time at Campbell. In 2019, Duval helped the team to an 8-4-2 record while recording four shutouts. Prior to her collegiate career, she played club soccer at Match Fit Academy FC and led Goshen Central High to four consecutive Section IX Class A titles, five-straight Division III championships and two appearances in the state semifinal. Duval will use a fifth year of eligibility at D’Youville College as she pursues a Doctor of Chiropractic degree.
“Reagan brings a plethora of championship pressure experience to our team,” said Head Coach Julie Carlson. “She showed well at our tryout and demonstrated her intelligent ability to communicate to her back line and be present. Reagan will be instrumental in training and in game management leadership.”
Lauren Seedlock is a goalkeeper majoring in pre-med at Radford University. During her time in the red and blue, she totaled 1741 minutes of play, starting 19 out of 22 matches played while amassing an 80% save percentage. The South Carolina local is an alum of JL Mann High School and assisted them to their SCHSL 5A State Championship title and 24-1-0 record in 2017. She was also named all-conference and second team all-region in 2015. Upon graduation, Seedlock will be continuing her education pursuing a degree in medicine.
“Lauren is such a fantastic worker. She has a strong presence in training and in games. She overcome injury into being a starter at Radford which identifies her character and determination,” said Head Coach Julie Carlson. “She also brings collegiate success and experience to the team that is so important to put our inaugural team in a solid place.”
Duval and Seedlock are the first players to sign with the team since the naming of the Greenville Liberty. They join an onslaught of many local players for the inaugural season. Season tickets are on sale now; matches begin May 8 with an exhibition match versus the SC Bantums from Columbia, SC.
