WHAT TO WATCH FOR
The Greenville Triumph Soccer Club plays its only home match of the month on Friday, May 13th, in Greenville, SC at 7:00pm ET against Forward Madison, presented by Servus VR Bar.
Greenville continues to lead the league in shots, but the club has struggled to capitalize as was the case in their draw at Fuego FC last Saturday. The team seems to be on an upward trajectory, albeit not always concluding with a full three points.
Greenville has been riddled with injuries since the beginning of the season and those woes continued last week, losing attacker, Venton Evans to a hamstring injury. While many Greenville players look to be on the mend, the team will have to continue to adapt their lineup with Evans and a handful of others still out. Fortunately, a deep roster and versatile players will give Greenville the opportunity rotate positions and find the best fit as the club carries on into the late spring.
Forward Madison holds the seventh spot in league standings, sporting a 1-1-3 record this season. The Wisconsin club settled for draws against Chattanooga, Union Omaha, and FC Tuscan in each of its first three matches. Madison fell to Greenville’s most recent opponent, Fuego FC, 1-0 on April 30th after a goalkeeper error. However, they found the final score in their next match against the Kickers, finishing 1-0 for their first win of the season.
