WHAT TO WATCH FOR
The Greenville Triumph Soccer Club will return home Saturday night after a west coast battle at FC Tucson ended in a 1-1 draw after the Triumph conceded a late goal. The home side takes on Central Valley Fuego for the third and final matchup this season at 7:00 PM in Triumph Stadium.
Although still undefeated in their last four matches, Greenville dropped a spot in League One standings after last weekend’s result. As the team enters a new month, Greenville will be eager to keep on the upward trajectory they had in June. Winning four out of five matches in last month and scoring almost double the goals in both April and May combined has catapulted the Triumph to the top of the USL League One standings.
However, Greenville will be in for a battle against expansion side, Fuego FC – a team they have yet to defeat. The new franchise had a strong start that has seemly stalled midseason, as the team sits at 8th in league standings with a 4-4-5 record, and 75% of their wins coming in their first three matches.
