WHAT TO WATCH FOR
The Greenville Triumph Soccer Club will travel a few hours south to Tormenta FC on Wednesday, July 13th for the second meeting between the two clubs in 2022. The Triumph-Tormenta match is half of a busy night for Greenville soccer, as they kick off in Statesboro just 30 minutes behind the Triumph’s sister team, the Greenville Liberty, kicks off a home playoff match in Triumph Stadium.
Greenville returned to the top of the table following their 1-0 shutout win versus Fuego FC on Saturday. They continue to garner points after remaining undefeated in the last five matches, including two challenging road matches at Omaha and Tucson. Greenville will need to use discretion with players’ minutes on Wednesday, as they have a quick turnaround to another road match on Saturday. Using caution for minor injuries will be key as well, with the club anticipating the weekend’s top-two matchup against Richmond.
Tormenta FC may be playing at home, but the club has not enjoyed a home team advantage this season, only winning one match at Erk Russell Park to date. Nevertheless, the South Georgia squad will bring a 5-4-5 record into tomorrow’s match that includes a win against Greenville earlier in the year.
