WHAT TO WATCH FOR
Greenville is coming off a win over another North Carolina club from the weekend when they topped the Jacks from Charlotte on Star Wars Night. The home team secured the 3-2 win following a brace in the first half by Leo Castro to come back and take the lead, accompanied by a penalty kick winner from Aaron Walker in the 87th minute.
Fans saw a different lineup on Saturday as Tevin Shaw returned to the starting XI and Noah Franke made his third start of the year. Jamie Smith and Lyam MacKinnon also recorded minutes last weekend following their comeback from injuries. The Triumph still sit sixth in league standings but have extended the gap between itself and South Georgia Tormenta FC with its win. Greenville holds a 9-6-5 record with 32 points this season, keeping them above the cutoff line for playoffs.
At the top of the table, NCFC has 38 points and an 11-4-5 record. The North Carolina side most recently announced its pending return to the USL Championship prior to drawing the Richmond Kickers 2-2 on Wednesday.
