Club and uniform supplier award Saint Joseph’s student in fourth year of scholarship
Greenville, SC (January 16, 2024)- The Greenville Triumph Soccer Club and its uniform partner, hummel North America, awarded Upstate student and soccer standout, Dominik Leon-Osorio with a $1000 college scholarship in a ceremony at Saint Joseph’s on Tuesday.
A Saint Joseph’s student and member of Spartanburg United youth soccer academy, Leon-Osorio is the fourth recipient of the scholarship since Triumph SC and uniform supplier hummel announced their partnership in 2021. Leon-Osorio was selected from an application process open to youth soccer players from around the Upstate.
“Dominik has been an outstanding player and person at Spartanburg United for his entire youth career,” said Spartanburg United Soccer Academy Director Fred Bertha. We’ve had the pleasure of watching him grow up and we wish him the best of luck in his future endeavors.”
A first-generation college student, Leon-Osorio plans to attend Clemson University this fall to study mechanical engineering and business.
“Dominik is a great choice for this award,” said Steven Jones, director of Saint Joseph’s Catholic School. “We are proud of his efforts both on the soccer field and in the classroom. He’s got a bright future, and I’m very pleased others see in him the same promise we do.”
The Greenville Triumph Soccer Club kicks off its sixth season on March 9th at Paladin Stadium on the campus of Furman University, as they host the expansion Spokane Velocity in the 2024 League One Season Opener. The Greenville Liberty women’s team will begin its third season later this spring.
