Greenville battles back on the road as Muba Nour opens the scoring and Amal Knight makes several key saves to preserve the draw
Madison, Wis. ( August 12th, 2026 ) — Greenville Triumph SC battled to a 1-1 draw against Forward Madison on the road Saturday night, earning a point against one of the top teams in USL League One.
The matchup marked the 19th meeting between the two clubs, who are both founding members of USL League One from its inaugural 2019 season. Forward Madison entered the match sitting third in the table with an 11-5-3 record, while Greenville continued its push for a place in the playoffs.
The Triumph struck first in the 27th minute when Muba Nour found the back of the net to give Greenville a 1-0 advantage. Nour was booked moments later as the Triumph looked to maintain its lead.
Forward Madison responded just before halftime, leveling the match in the 44th minute to send the teams into the break tied 1-1.
Greenville was forced into an early defensive adjustment when Brandon Fricke was booked in the 40th minute and came off one minute later, with Evan Lee entering to take his place on the backline. The appearance marked Lee’s 189th for the club, matching Fricke’s total of 189 appearances.
The second half saw chances at both ends, with Nour testing the Madison goalkeeper with a shot on target in the 57th minute.
Two minutes later, Amal Knight came up with a crucial save to keep the match level. Knight was called into action again in the 63rd minute, combining with Seagrist for a goal-line-saving effort that denied Madison a potential go-ahead goal.
The Triumph continued to search for a winner late in the match. Greenville earned its first corner of the night in the 86th minute before Connor Evans stepped over a free kick in the 89th minute.
With the match deep into stoppage time, Lee nearly delivered a dramatic winner. His 90+4′ shot was saved, but the effort earned Greenville a final corner and one more scoring opportunity before the final whistle.
The Triumph leave Madison with a valuable point as the playoff race continues. They return home this Saturday August 15th as they take on One Knoxville and celebrate Back to School night Presented by TD SYNNEX Share the Magic.
