Devin Boyce Rejoins the Triumph for the 2026 Season

Greenville, SC (January 14, 2026) – Greenville Triumph SC has announced that former player Devin Boyce will return to Greenville on a multi-year deal pending league and federation approval, ahead of the 2026 season.

Boyce rejoins the Triumph after spending the 2024–25 seasons with Forward Madison FC, where he made 62 total appearances for the ‘Mingos, scoring nine goals and logging 3,078 minutes across all competitions. In 2024, Boyce appeared in 20 matches (19 starts), tallying six goals and two assists while playing 1,851 minutes, highlighted by a Jägermeister Cup goal. He followed that campaign with 23 appearances and 13 starts in 2025, adding one goal and one assist over 1,227 minutes as Madison finished 12th in the standings.

The 2026 return marks Boyce’s second stint in Greenville, having previously played for Greenville Triumph SC during the 2023 season.

Boyce’s professional career includes a standout run with Union Omaha from 2020–21, where he became the club’s all-time leader in appearances and assists. He played a key role in Omaha’s 2021 USL League One title, appearing in all 29 matches while recording five goals, nine assists, and 2,204 minutes during the championship campaign. In 2022, Boyce made the jump to the USL Championship with Memphis 901 FC, seeing action in 16 matches for 289 minutes.

Boyce brings proven League One success, Championship experience, and familiarity with Greenville as he returns to the Upstate for the 2026 season.

Greenville, SC (November 24, 2025) – As Greenville Triumph SC close the book on its 2025 campaign, the club has announced end-of-season roster decisions. A group of 12 initial returnees has been announced and will take the field for the Triumph in 2026 alongside a new coaching staff following the retirement of head coach and technical director Rick Wright. The club is continuing discussions with multiple out of contract players about potential returns.

Defender moves up to the USL Championship after two seasons in Greenville

Greenville, SC (January 30, 2025)- Triumph defender Daniel Wu is set to continue his career in the USL Championship with Lexington Sporting Club after a transfer deal was struck between the two clubs earlier this month, pending league and federation approval. The defender was set to remain in Greenville for the upcoming season after initially signing with the Triumph for 2025 before Lexington SC showed interest in the Georgetown alum. Wu’s transfer will see him move up to the second division as Lexington SC itself moves from USL League One to the Championship in 2025.

Wu played 43 matches for Greenville, scoring one goal across 1,946 minutes in all competitions. He began his professional career with the Triumph, providing depth to the backline and proving to be a key defensive presence. Greenville Triumph thanks Daniel Wu for his dedication and professionalism during his time with the club and wishes him all the best in this next step.

California Native, Michael Gonzalez adds to offense

Greenville, SC (January 10, 2024)- Greenville Triumph has signed forward Monterey Bay F.C. forward, Michael Gonzalez for the 2025 season, pending league and federation approval. The Fresno, California native has a solid track record collegiately and professionally:

• Sacramento State (2020-2023): 47 games, 14 starts, 7 goals, 3 assists, 1,905 minutes
• Fresno City College: 9 assists, CCCAA Championship
• Big West Conference All-Academic Team (2022)

English defender looks to fill Greenville’s defensive depth with first pro contract

Greenville, SC ( January 8, 2025)- Greenville Triumph is pleased to announce the signing of defender Ivan Agyaakwah, pending league and federation approval. The London native was a steady contributor beginning freshman year; He totaled 4,745 minutes across 65 matches for the Paladins. Agyaakwah marked appearances in both of Furman’s NCAA Tournament games including 110 minutes in the Paladin’s shootout win over #14 UNC.

Former Chattanooga Red Wolves forward moves to Triumph for third USL season

Greenville, SC (January 8, 2024)- Greenville Triumph SC has signed Jamaican forward Chevone Marsh for the upcoming season, pending league and federation approval. Marsh brings significant experience from top leagues across the globe over his 10-year career:

• 19 goals, 4 assists in 62 matches with Chattanooga Red Wolves SC
• Played in Jamaica (Cavalier FC), Finland (KPV Kokkola), El Salvador (AD Chalatenango), and Costa Rica (Jicaral Secoba, Santos Guapiles)
• 5 appearances for the Jamaican national team, 2 goals

Marsh will reunite with former Red Wolves teammate, Ropapa Mensah, for their third season together. Marsh’s addition will strengthen the core group of returning players in the Triumph offense. Veteran Defender Concludes Accomplished Career Spanning College, MLS, and USL

Greenville, SC (January 7, 2024)– Defender Nate Shultz has announced his decision to retire from professional soccer after spending the last three seasons with the Triumph. Shultz had been announced as a returnee to the club for 2025 prior to his decision to end his playing career. The defender played a vital role for the Triumph over three seasons, making 85 appearances and contributing one goal and five assists across 6,452 minutes. 

“When Nate and I discussed his retirement decision it was difficult because he has meant so much to the team,” said Head Coach Rick Wright. “From the first day meeting him I knew he was a special player and person.  While we will miss him greatly, I know that he and Alexis will be successful as they move back to Ohio to be closer to their families. I wish them great success!”

A native of Ohio, Shultz’s journey to professional soccer began with an outstanding collegiate career at the University of Akron, where he earned numerous accolades, including second-team All-Mid-American Conference and All-Great Lakes Regional honors. Drafted 48th overall in the 2018 MLS SuperDraft by LA Galaxy, Shultz signed with LA Galaxy II in March 2018 before continuing his career in the USL. His tenure with Akron, highlighted by his defensive prowess and clutch offensive contributions, set the foundation for his professional success.

Rankenburg, Fricke, and Polak Return to Bolster the Squad

January 6, 2025 (Greenville, SC)- The Greenville Triumph Soccer Club announced today that three additional players from the 2024 roster will be returning to the pitch for the upcoming season, pending league and federation approval. After successful negotiations, Gunther Rankenburg, Brandon Fricke, and Tyler Polak have officially re-signed with the club, solidifying their roles as pivotal members of the team.

Gunther Rankenburg: Rankenburg’s crucial saves and commanding presence in goal were key to the team’s success, with 22 appearances last season. Splitting time in goal last season, he will look to secure the starting goalkeeper spot in his third season with the team.

Brandon Fricke: Known for his leadership and aerial dominance, Fricke’s experience and dependability make him an invaluable asset on and off the field, contributing in 27 matches and logging 2,098 minutes last season.

Tyler Polak: A Triumph stalwart entering his seventh season with the club, Polak’s consistency and defensive reliability remain vital, having played in 32 matches and recording 2,816 minutes last season. Known for his strong positioning and tackling, fans can expect him to anchor the backline with Fricke.

25-year-old Golden Boot winner, All-League First Team selection became club’s all-time leading scorer

TAMPA, Fla. (November 16, 2024) – USL League One today announced that Greenville Triumph SC forward Lyam MacKinnon has been voted the 2024 USL League One Player of the Year. The 2024 USL League One Golden Boot winner and All-League First Team selection is the second-youngest player to be named Player of the Year.

Greenville’s all-time leading scorer led the league with 16 goals through 22 matches. MacKinnon also led all players with 21 goal contributions, 35 shots on target, four braces and four penalties won. According to American Soccer Analysis, the 25-year-old led all players with a 3.81 goals-added value this season, tied for the second-most in a single season in league history behind Trevor Amann’s (Northern Colorado) record of 5.68 set in 2023.

“I’m very grateful for my team, my teammates and especially my coaches,” MacKinnon said. “It was a year with many challenges, a lot of great moments and a lot of hard moments. This award reflects the work of the team and how they helped me earn this recognition.”

Born in Lausanne, Switzerland, MacKinnon began his career within the academy of his hometown club, FC Lausanne-Sport, and captained the club’s U-18 and U-21 teams. MacKinnon moved to the United States in 2019 to play collegiately at Villanova University where he was a two-time All-BIG EAST Second Team selection with 17 goals and 14 assists across 56 appearances for the Wildcats between 2019-22. While in college, MacKinnon also played for USL League Two sides Reading United AC (2021) and West Chester United SC (2022).

MacKinnon was drafted with the 84th overall selection in the 2023 MLS SuperDraft by Nashville SC but would not begin his professional career until March 2023 when he signed with Greenville Triumph SC. Since making his professional debut with Triumph SC a season ago, MacKinnon has totaled 30 goals and 13 assists through 65 appearances across all competitions for the club.

With his 16 regular season goals, MacKinnon – the first European Player of the Year in league history – has surpassed former Orange County SC (USL Championship) goalscorer Didier Crettenand as the most prolific Swiss goalscorer in modern American men’s professional soccer history.

“This is a massive award, not just for Lyam but for the club itself,” Greenville head coach Rick Wright said. “I look at when he joined us coming straight out of college – he had some very defined goals that he wanted to achieve and we discussed them; he was one of those rare athletes that followed through. He was dedicated and followed the plan of action, and he’s reaping the rewards.”

MacKinnon received 45% of the ballot to earn the award. 2024 USL League One Defender of the Year Bruno Rendón finished second on 30% with eight goal contributions and a league-leading 169 duels won, while 2024 USL League One All-League First Team midfielder Pedro Dolabella finished third on 25% with 14 goal contributions. In total, three players received votes.

MacKinnon’s 45% of the ballot earned is the lowest total among USL League One Player of the Year winners in league history. Additionally, the 20% difference between the first and third-place finalists is the slimmest in league history.

The 2024 USL League One Awards were voted on by each team’s technical staff and executives and only account for 2024 USL League One regular season play.

Carolina Core attacker joins Triumph for remainder of 2024 season

Greenville, SC (August 30, 2024)- Greenville Triumph SC has announced the acquisition of 21-year-old forward Federico Stachuk on loan from MLS NEXT Pro club, Carolina Core FC. Stachuk’s loan, which runs through the remainder of the 2024 season, marks the first time Triumph SC has received a player on loan. Carolina Core currently sits fifth in the Southeastern Division standings with an 8-10-4 record.

Stachuk developed at Weston FC’s Developmental Academy before moving to Club Atletico Banfield’s U-20 squad in Argentina where he impressed, scoring seven goals and adding ten assists in two seasons. In 2024, Stachuk has appeared in two matches for Carolina Core, starting one and accumulating 74 minutes of play.

Stachuk will join Greenville Triumph on loan for the remainder of the season, bringing his dynamic play and goal-scoring ability to an attacking group currently dealing with multiple injuries . He will be available for selection following league and federation approval.
