Former All-League Midfielder Returns to League One
Greenville, SC (January 26, 2023) – The Greenville Triumph Soccer Club has announced the signing of midfielder Devin Boyce, pending league and federation approval. The Union Omaha USL League One All-League Second Team player returns to the league after spending time in the USL Championship with Memphis 901 FC.
While at the 901, Boyce saw action in 16 matches for 289 minutes last season. Prior to his season in the Championship, Boyce became Union Omaha’s all-time club leader in appearances and assists, leading Omaha to the 2021 League One title with 29 matches played, five goals, nine assists and 2,204 minutes logged during the run.
“We’re thrilled to add a quality player like Devin to our Triumph Family. He is a great dribbler and can create on the pass, but also possesses the defensive mentality to defend and recover the ball”, said Head Coach John Harkes. “A true competitor and winner; he has always been a player that we have admired and now are excited to have.”
An alumnus of Saint Louis University, Boyce measured 32 starts, nine goals, seven assists and 2,612 total minutes in two years. He was named Second-team All-Conference and First-team All-Conference in his senior and junior seasons, while also being named USC NCAA DI Second-team All-Southeast Region. A Saint Louis native, Boyce spent his early college career at The University of New Mexico before returning home to play for the Billikens. While at UNM, he appeared in 39 matches for 2,933 minutes.
Boyce joins a battalion of players for Greenville’s 2023 season including newcomer Tevin Shaw and co-captain Aaron Walker. The Triumph begins its regular season on March 25th against the Richmond Kickers. The season opener will take place at the new home of the Triumph, Paladin Stadium.
