Late Equalizer Sees Greenville and One Knoxville Share the Points
Greenville, SC (August 15, 2026) — Greenville Triumph SC battled One Knoxville SC to a 1-1 draw Saturday night at GE Vernova Park, with both sides finding the back of the net in the second half.
One Knoxville entered the match sitting fourth in the table with an 11-5-4 record, while Greenville looked to make the most of its home-field advantage.
The Triumph created one of its best opportunities of the opening half in the 36th minute. Azaad Liadi made a strong run into the attack and created space for a shot, but his effort was deflected away by a One Knoxville defender.
Greenville head coach, Dave Dixon, highlighted the team’s improved organization and willingness to push forward after halftime, saying, “Yeah, I mean, I think that a little more organized in trying to disrupt how they wanted to play, which is great, something we talked about at halftime. Willingness to run and get forward, they tried to fight all the way through the end. You know you can’t fault them for that.”
Greenville broke through shortly after halftime. In the 46th minute, William Akio delivered a dangerous cross into the box that found the back of the net, giving the Triumph a 1-0 lead. The goal marked Muba Nour’s fourth of the season.
The Triumph held onto their advantage deep into the second half, but One Knoxville found a late equalizer in the 92nd minute to level the match at 1-1.
Despite the late setback, Greenville battled through the final minutes to secure a point at home.
The Triumph will return to action next weekend August, 22nd when they take on Spokane on the road kicking off at 9:30 PM.
