Greenville Triumph and Sarasota Paradise Battle to Scoreless Draw at GE Vernova Park

Greenville, S.C. (July 8, 2026) – Greenville Triumph and Sarasota Paradise played to a hard-fought 0-0 draw Wednesday night at GE Vernova Park in the first-ever meeting between the two clubs. Midfielder Jason Bouregy made his first start for the Triumph, helping earn a point in front of the home crowd.

“It was definitely great. I was off for three and a half months, and it was great to be back in the lineup. I’m glad I got some minutes under my belt, and I look forward to the next game,” Bouregy said.

Greenville looked dangerous early and nearly opened the scoring in the 12th minute when Lucas Meek struck a shot from outside the penalty area that crashed off the crossbar. Just one minute later, Meek earned a free kick just outside the 18-yard box after being brought down but Sarasota’s goalkeeper, Alex Sutton made the save to keep the match scoreless.

The Triumph continued to create opportunities through set pieces, earning dangerous free kicks in the fifth, 20th, and 53rd minutes, but were unable to find the breakthrough. Meek remained a constant threat throughout the night, repeatedly creating space in the attacking third.

Head Coach Dave Dixon praised Meek’s ability to generate chances while emphasizing the need to capitalize on those opportunities.

“Lucas did the same thing in New York with the Cosmos. He has this uncanny ability to create separation and opportunities, and we need to be a little bit sharper in those moments and figure out how to capitalize a bit more,” said Dixon.

Defensively, Greenville stood strong throughout the evening. Goalkeeper Amal Knight came up with back-to-back saves in the 25th and 26th minutes to deny Sarasota’s best chances of the first half. Just before halftime, Brandon Fricke made a crucial sliding tackle in the 41st minute to break up another dangerous attack and preserve the clean sheet heading into the break.

Following a hydration break midway through the first half, the teams entered halftime tied 0-0 after four minutes of stoppage time.

Greenville continued to press after the restart, with Meek again testing the Sarasota defense. His effort in the 62nd minute drifted just wide as the Triumph searched for the opening goal.

Dixon turned to his bench in the second half, bringing on Rodrigo Robles and Ivan Agyaakwah in the 63rd minute before introducing Azad Liadi and Muba Nour in the 72nd minute.

Despite both sides pushing for a late winner, neither team could find the decisive goal as the match finished in a scoreless draw.

The shutout marked Greenville’s second consecutive clean sheet, something Knight said reflects the work the team has put in defensively.

“It feels good to have back-to-back clean sheets. I have been working hard at it, and you could feel it during the first half of the season. To come into the beginning of the second half of the season and get back-to-back clean sheets feels good. Defensively, I think we’ve been doing well, and we just have to keep it up. We’ve got to stay focused for the entirety of the 90 minutes, and we just have to keep going,” Knight said.

Greenville Triumph Claims First Road Win of the Season with 3-0 Victory Over New York Cosmos

Brandon Fricke opened the scoring before William Akio’s second-half brace helped Greenville secure all three points in a weather-delayed road contest.

Patterson, NJ (July 4, 2026) – Greenville Triumph earned its first road victory of the season Saturday night, defeating the New York Cosmos 3-0 in a composed performance that featured a first-half weather delay and a clinical second-half finish.

The opening stages tested Greenville’s defense early. Goalkeeper Amal Knight came up with back-to-back saves in the 13th and 16th minutes to deny the Cosmos and keep the match scoreless. Four minutes later, Patrick Seagrist delivered a crucial goal-line clearance, preserving the clean sheet after another dangerous New York attack.

Greenville was forced into an early substitution in the 10th minute as William Akio entered the match for Larsen, a move that would ultimately prove decisive.

After Chapa Herrera was shown a yellow card in the 17th minute, the Triumph gradually settled into the match and began creating opportunities of their own. Seagrist sent in a dangerous corner in the 40th minute before play was suspended in the 42nd minute due to inclement weather. Following a 90-minute delay, the teams returned to complete the first half.

The breakthrough came deep into first-half stoppage time. After the extended weather delay, Greenville made the most of its opportunity before the break. Brandon Fricke met a well-placed corner from Devin Boyce with a powerful header giving the Triumph a 1-0 lead heading into halftime.

“The delay gave us an opportunity to reset and make a statement before halftime,” Fricke said. “The timing of the goal gave us a good push going into the break, and we came out with momentum in our favor. The group carried that momentum, finished our chances, and put the game strongly in our favor. Overall, it was a strong away performance, and now we move on to another big game Wednesday at home.”

Despite receiving a yellow card in the 55th minute, William Akio quickly responded. Just two minutes later, Lucas Meek slipped a pass into the forward, who finished confidently to double Greenville’s lead. Akio struck again in the 64th minute, completing his brace and extending the Triumph’s advantage to 3-0.

“I’ve been working really hard, and I knew I had to step up today for the team,” Akio said. “Recently we’ve been in a tough spell, so God willing we build off this and become the squad we all know we can be. All praise to the Most High.” The forward said the road victory was an important step for the group. “It’s very satisfying because I know we can pick up points on the road,” Akio added. “Now we need to build on this win and stay disciplined.”

The 3-0 victory marked Greenville Triumph SC’s first road win of the 2026 season, providing a significant boost as the club continues its USL League One campaign.

“It’s great to have your goalkeeper come up with big saves in games,” assistant coach Joel Tyson said. “Amal stood strong for us and gave the guys energy. It’s really hard to win on the road in this league, and we needed this result coming off the break. We’re excited to get back to GE Vernova Park in front of our fans and push for another three points.”

Charlotte, NC (June 24, 2026) — Greenville Triumph SC fell 1-0 to Charlotte Independence on Wednesday night in the fourth round of the PRINX Tires USL Cup. The match marked the first meeting between the two clubs this season.

The contest was a tightly contested affair with both sides battling for control throughout the evening. Charlotte generated several early opportunities, while Greenville remained organized defensively to keep the match scoreless.

Charlotte recorded a dangerous shot on target in the 32nd minute, but Greenville held firm and entered halftime level at 0-0.

Greenville looked to create chances in the second half, including a free kick opportunity from Devin Boyce in the 55th minute. As the match wore on, the intensity increased with both teams searching for the breakthrough goal.

Fricke Scores in First Half, But Visitors Rally for 2-1 Victory at GE Vernova Park

Greenville, SC (June 20, 2026) – Greenville Triumph SC suffered a late setback on Saturday night at GE Vernova Park, falling 2-1 to AV Alta FC after conceding two second-half goals.

Backed by a loud and energetic home crowd, Greenville looked determined to secure another victory in front of its supporters. The night also marked a significant milestone for Brigham Larsen, who made his first start for the Triumph and the first professional start of his career.

“It was super fun. Obviously, I just came this Wednesday, so it’s been a short turnaround for me, but the guys have taken me in super well,” Larsen said. “It was exciting to get to play with the guys already, and knowing there’s more to come is super exciting for sure.”

Anthony Patti received a yellow card in the third minute, setting the tone for a match that featured several tense moments. The Triumph bench was also shown a yellow card in the 22nd minute.

AV Alta created an early opportunity in the 27th minute, but goalkeeper Seth Torman came up with a strong save to keep the match scoreless.

Greenville broke through in the 38th minute. Following a free kick opportunity just outside the penalty area moments earlier, Anthony Patti delivered the assist to Brandon Fricke, who found the back of the net for his second goal of the season to give the Triumph a 1-0 lead heading into halftime.

Defensively, Greenville received another key contribution in the 67th minute when Patrick Seagrist made a crucial goal-saving play to deny AV Alta.

Head Coach Dave Dixon turned to his bench in the 69th minute, bringing on Jason Bouregy and Lucas Meek for Devin Boyce and Seagrist. Connor Evans was shown a yellow card in the 66th minute as the intensity of the match continued to rise.

Greenville Acquires Larsen on Loan from Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC

Greenville, SC (June 19, 2026) -Greenville has acquired forward Birgham Larsen on loan from Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC for the remainder of the 2026 season. The Oslo, Norway native arrives with an impressive collegiate resume that includes two American Athletic Conference championships and multiple conference honors.

Larsen spent the past three seasons at Charlotte, helping the 49ers win back-to-back AAC titles and reach consecutive NCAA Tournaments. In 2024, he scored the overtime game-winner in the AAC Championship against Florida International, earning Most Outstanding Player honors. He finished the season with four goals and two assists.

A Second Team All-AAC selection in 2023, Larsen recorded five goals and five assists while leading Charlotte with 15 points. He also earned AAC Offensive Player of the Week honors and was named to the AAC All-Tournament Team.

Before joining Charlotte, Larsen starred at Winthrop University, scoring 11 goals as a freshman to earn Big South Freshman of the Year and First Team All-Big South honors.

Larsen brings a proven scoring touch and physical presence after totaling 24 goals and nine assists across his collegiate career.

Triumph Fall to Westchester SC on the Road

Greenville Plays Entire Second Half with 10 Men

Westchester, NY (June 14, 2026) – Greenville Triumph SC returned to the road on Sunday afternoon for their second meeting of the season with Westchester SC, looking to replicate their 4-2 victory in the first matchup between the clubs. Despite creating several chances throughout the night, the Triumph were unable to find the back of the net and fell 4-0 at Westchester.

Westchester opened the scoring in the 15th minute before doubling its advantage in the 32nd minute before the Triumph responded with a handful of dangerous opportunities before halftime. In the 40th minute, Azaad Liadi fired an effort that drifted just wide of the left post.

Three minutes later, Devin Boyce nearly pulled one back for Greenville with a free kick that was headed for the upper-right corner, but the Westchester goalkeeper Luca Marinelli made a diving save to preserve the two-goal lead.

The match changed dramatically at the end of the first half. Goalkeeper Amal Knight was shown a straight red card in the 46th minute, forcing Greenville to play the remainder of the match with 10 men. Goalkeeper Seth Torman entered the match, replacing Lucas Meek.

Despite being down a player, the Triumph continued to push forward. Boyce earned another dangerous free-kick opportunity in the 53rd minute, and four minutes later Azaad Liadi found himself one-on-one with the goalkeeper, but his effort was saved.

In the 64th minute, Westchester was awarded its second penalty kick of the evening, but Torman came up with a massive save to keep the scoreline unchanged and provide a spark for the visitors.

The Triumph continued to create opportunities throughout the remainder of the match, but the final touch never came. Westchester added a late goal in second-half stoppage time to seal the 4-0 result.

William Akio opened the scoring with his first goal in a Triumph uniform, Connor Evans recorded his first goal of the 2026 campaign, and Jason Bouregy added the first professional goal of his career as Greenville secured all three points.

The match began as a physical battle, with both teams earning several set-piece opportunities throughout the opening half. Loudoun threatened in the 13th minute, but goalkeeper Amal Knight was equal to the task, making an important save to keep the match scoreless.

GREENVILLE, S.C. (June 3, 2026) – History was made Wednesday night as Greenville Triumph SC opened GE Vernova Park in front of a sold-out crowd, defeating Forward Madison FC 1-0 in the club’s first-ever match at its new home.

The atmosphere was electric from kickoff as supporters packed the stadium for the highly anticipated inaugural match. Greenville rewarded the home faithful with an energetic start, controlling possession and creating several dangerous opportunities early in the first half.

“It’s the reason we won. I think the energy that the crowd was able to bring gives you that extra ability to run, the extra ability to fight, and to get to the last whistle. For me, that’s the biggest difference in the game and in the last few weeks for the guys as well. They fed off this energy really well, and the crowd was amazing,” said Head Coach Dave Dixon.

The breakthrough came in the 14th minute when Azaad Liadi found space inside the penalty area and finished clinically to give the Triumph a 1-0 advantage. The goal proved to be the difference on a memorable night for the club and community.

Forward Madison increased its pressure after the break, leading to a much more aggressive second half as both sides battled for control. Liadi was shown a yellow card in the 56th minute, while Greenville continued to make adjustments with William Akio replacing Devin Boyce in the 69th minute and Lucas Meek coming on for Kimito Fritz after going down with an injury in the 74th minute.

As the visitors pushed for an equalizer late, Greenville’s defense stood firm. Chapa Herrera was booked in the 79th minute, but the Triumph remained organized and resilient through three minutes of stoppage time.

Goalkeeper Amal Knight delivered a standout performance between the posts, recording his first clean sheet of the 2026 season and preserving the historic victory.

One Knoxville Takes First Meeting of the Season

Triumph Unable to Find Breakthrough in Knoxville

Knoxville, TN (May 29, 2026) — Greenville Triumph SC traveled to Knoxville on Saturday night for its first meeting of the season against One Knoxville, falling 2-0 on the road.

Greenville remained compact in the opening half, limiting chances and producing key defensive moments to navigate a physical first 45 minutes. Defender Daniel Wu was shown a yellow card in the 22nd minute before Azaad Liadi was booked just before halftime in the 44th minute.

The deadlock was broken three minutes into the second half when a One Knox cross into the penalty area deflected off of defender Patrick Seagrist and into the net for an own goal, giving the hosts a 1-0 advantage in the 48th minute.

Greenville nearly responded immediately. Rodrigo Robles drew a foul just outside the Knoxville penalty area in the 50th minute, creating a dangerous free-kick opportunity. Two minutes later, Devin Boyce tested the One Knox goalkeeper Johan Garibay with a shot on target, but a last-second save pushed the effort away for a corner kick.

The physical nature of the match continued as Kimito Fritz picked up a yellow card in the 62nd minute, followed by Chapa Herrera in the 68th. However, One Knox doubled its lead in the 82nd minute when Braudilio Rodrigues finished a scoring opportunity to make it 2-0.

Greenville continued to push forward late in the match and nearly found a breakthrough in the 87th minute when Liadi laid it off to find Leo Castro, but the chance stayed out as Garibay denied the opportunity.

The Triumph now turn their attention to a historic night on Wednesday, June 3, as they open GE Vernova Park for the first time against Forward Madison FC. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m.

Triumph Earn Point in Physical Battle Against Portland Hearts of Pine

Greenville sees scoreless streak snapped but settles for 1-1 draw in Portland

Portland, ME (May 23, 2026) — The Greenville Triumph traveled to Portland, Maine on Saturday night to face Hearts of Pine for the first meeting between the two clubs this season. After going 461 consecutive minutes without a goal, Greenville found the back of the net but had to battle through adversity to earn a 1-1 draw on the road.

The opening half saw Portland control much of the possession as Greenville looked to stay compact defensively and create chances on the counterattack.

The physical nature of the match showed early when Evan Lee was shown a yellow card in the 16th minute after bringing down a Portland player just outside the box. Greenville nearly broke through shortly after halftime when Devin Boyce earned a dangerous free kick opportunity outside the area in the 48th minute, Portland’s Hunter Morse denied the goal.

Greenville finally ended its scoring drought in the 70th minute when Rodrigo Robles found the back of the net to give the Triumph a 1-0 lead.

The momentum shifted five minutes later when the Triumph were called for a handball inside the box. The decision also reduced Greenville to 10 men, and Ollie Wright converted from the spot to level the match at 1-1.

“We stayed connected as a group. After going a man down, everyone gave it all to secure a great away point in a very difficult stadium,” said Robles.

Despite heavy pressure late, including six minutes of second-half stoppage time, Greenville held firm defensively to secure a point away from home.
