Muba Nour scores early as Greenville battles Union Omaha at GE Vernova Park
Greenville, SC (September 26, 2026) – Greenville Triumph SC hosted Union Omaha for the second time this season on Saturday night at GE Vernova Park for CESA Night, presented by MTC Federal Credit Union.
Greenville entered the match with a 6-5-15 league record, while Union Omaha came in at 19-4-6. The match also marked Dj Benton’s first start of the 2026 season.
The Triumph struck early in the fourth minute when Muba Nour found the back of the net after a ball was lofted over the Omaha defense, giving Greenville a 1-0 lead.
Reflecting on the team’s effort, interim head coach Joel Tyson praised the group’s work throughout the week and its first-half performance.
“I felt the performance of the group tonight mimicked the effort and energy we got from them all week in training. There was a substance to our collective energy and fight and I was really proud of their application, especially in the first 45 minutes.”
Omaha responded in the 10th minute to level the match before taking the lead in the 64th minute.
Greenville continued to look for an equalizer. In the 60th minute, Robles sent a cross toward goal that was deflected off the crossbar and back into play. In the 66th minute, Alex was fouled outside the box, setting up a free kick for Azaad Liadi.
In the 71st minute, Leo Castro made his first appearance since June 3rd, returning to the field as the Triumph continued to push forward. Toby Sims and Ezra White also entered late.
Omaha added a third goal in the 94th minute to secure the 3-1 victory.
With the result, Greenville moves to 6-5-16 on the season, while Union Omaha improves to 20-4-6.
