Agyaakwah, Patti, and Boyce lead Greenville to victory ahead of Saturday’s Fan Appreciation Night.
GREENVILLE, S.C. (October 14, 2026) – Greenville Triumph SC hosted Spokane Velocity FC on Wednesday night at GE Vernova Park for Upstate Networking Night, earning a win in the second meeting between the sides this season.
The Triumph opened the scoring in the fourth minute when Ivan Agyaakwah found the back of the net for his first goal of the season. Greenville doubled its lead in the 10th minute with an own goal by Spokane to take an early 2-0 advantage.
“It’s been a tough season for me with injury, so it’s definitely nice to finally be getting some regular minutes and contribute with a goal,” Agyaakwah said. “Honestly, there’s no better feeling than scoring a goal, especially that early in the game. It gives you confidence to push on. All glory to God.”
Spokane responded in the 31st minute to cut into Greenville’s lead. The Triumph came out strong after halftime, with Patrick Patti finding the net in the 51st minute off an assist from Muba Nour. Patti scored his second goal of the season against Spokane.
Following the match, Patti praised the team’s collective effort and determination to finish the season strong.
“I mean, yeah, first of all, it was a great team effort tonight from the team! It feels amazing to help push the team to a win. Despite the season we are having, we are pushing every single day to finish the season strong. The goal was just a part of the big win,” Patti said.
Spokane earned a penalty kick in the 72nd minute after Agyaakwah brought down a Spokane player inside the box. The visitors converted to cut into the deficit, but Greenville responded four minutes later when Devin Boyce scored with a header to extend the Triumph’s lead.
Spokane found the net again in the 87th minute, making for a tense finish as Greenville worked to protect its advantage and close out the match.
Interim head coach Joel Tyson emphasized the importance of finishing the performance and securing the result after the team’s previous outing.
“We talked before the game about completing the performance and leaving no doubts. The group was disappointed not to get more from our last game at Alta, and we wanted to push this one over the line,” Tyson said.
The match marked the second meeting between Greenville and Spokane this season. The Triumph fell to Spokane in their earlier meeting on the road, but Tyson said the team’s focus was on the next challenge rather than revenge.
“I don’t think we had any idea of revenge for dropping a result to them earlier. It was the most important game because it was the next game. Proud of the group for just finishing the next step,” Tyson said.
The Triumph will look to carry that momentum into Saturday, October 17, when they return to GE Vernova Park to host Charlotte Independence for the final home match of the season. The match will feature Fan Appreciation Night as Greenville closes out its home schedule with its supporters.
